Senior Patrol Leader

The senior patrol leader (SPL) is elected by the Scouts to represent them as the top youth leader in the
troop.

Assistant Senior Patrol Leader

The assistant senior patrol leader (ASPL)
is the second highest-ranking youth leader in the troop. He is elected by the scouts with the approval of the Scoutmaster. He
acts as the SPL in the absence of the senior patrol leader or when
called upon. He also provides leadership to other youth leaders in the troop.

Patrol Leader

The patrol leader(PL) is the elected
leader of his patrol. He represents his patrol on the patrol
leaders’ council.

Assistant Patrol Leader

The assistant patrol leader is appointed
by the patrol leader and leads the patrol in his absence.

Troop Guide

The troop guide is both a leader and a mentor to the members of the new-scout patrol. He should be an older scout who holds at least the first class rank and can work well with younger scouts.

Troop Scribe

The scribe keeps the troop records.
He records the activities of the patrol leaders’ council and
keeps a record of advancement and attendance at troop meetings.

Troop Webmaster

The troop webmaster is responsible for maintaining the troop’s website. He should make sure that information posted on the website is correct and up to date and that members’ and leaders’ privacy is protected. A member of the troop committee may assist him with his work

Troop Quartermaster

The quartermaster (QM) keeps track of
troop equipment and sees that it is in good working order..

Troop Librarian

The librarian oversees the care and use of troop books, pamphlets, magazines, audiovisuals,
and merit badge counselor lists.

OA Representative

The Order of the Arrow Troop Rep is a youth liaison serving as a link between the local OA lodge or village and his unit in a way that strengthens both organizations. Setting a good example will enhance the image of the Order as a service arm to his unit.

Troop Bugler

The Bugler sounds bugle calls as required, including at troop outdoor events

Troop Historian

The troop historian takes pictures at troop outings, prepares slide shows for Court of Honor and preserves a historical record or scrapbook of troop activities.

Leave No Trace Trainer

The LNT Trainer specializes in teaching Leave No Trace principles and ensures that the troop follows the principles of Leave No Trace on all outings and other outdoor activities.

Den Chief

The den chief works with Cub Scouts, Webelos Scouts, and den leaders in a Cub Scout pack.

Instructor

The Instructor is an older troop member proficient in a scouting skill. He must have the ability to teach that skill to others.

Chaplin's Aide

The chaplain’s aide works with the
troop chaplain to meet the religious needs of Scouts in
the troop. He also works to promote the religious emblems
program.
